Oleh Minko

Was born on August 3, 1938 in the town of Makiyivka, Donetsk region.
In 1959-1965 studied at the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Art, Textile Department.
His teachers were R. Selsky, K. Zvirynsky, D. Dovbushynsky.
Since 1962 he has participated in many exhibitions.
In 1970 he became member of Artists` Union of Ukraine.
Since 1982 has been teaching at the Textile Department of the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Art (now National Academy of Arts).
Since 1991 he is the Chairman, and Full Professor. In 2002 the “Class of Professor Oleh Minko” was established.
In 1988 he was granted the honorary title of Merited Artist of Ukraine.
In 1988, 1994, 1998, 2004, 2008 his solo exhibitions were held in Ukraine.
Participant of several art exhibitions abroad in Rzeszow (1979, 1987), London (1989), Helsinki (1990),
Philadelphia, Chicago (1992), Washington (1991, 1993), Bonn, Wroclaw (1997), Warsaw (2002), Gdansk (2003), Berlin (2006).
